Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on 16 March.
Ogilvy's Jules Chalkley is up against six sets of creative leaders including Ant Nelson and Mike Sutherland of Adam & Eve/DDB; Nadja Lossgott and Nick Hulley at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO; Helen Rhodes of Bartle Bogle Hegarty London; Havas London's Vicki Maguire; Indy Selvarajah of Ketchum; and Leo Burnett's Chaka Sobhani.
Eight agencies are battling it out for the coveted Media Agency of the Year award: Essence, Initiative, Manning Gottlieb OMD, OMD UK, PHD UK, the7stars, Wavemaker UK and Zenith.
OMD UK is nominated in four other categories at the awards while Zenith also made it into three additional shortlists.
The judges of this year’s awards included AJ Coyne, head of global, brand and creative, Klarna; Andy Freeman, marketing director at British Gas; Lis Blair, chief marketing officer, Moneysupermarket Group; Zoe Harris, chief marketing officer at On the Beach; Sarah Cox, head of marketing at Volkswagen UK; and Dom Dwight, marketing director, Taylors of Harrogate.
Mark Given, chief marketing officer at Sainsbury’s and Argos, is the chair of judges. Mail Metro Media is the headline sponsor of the awards.
In the Independent Agency of the Year (creative) category Uncommon Creative Studio, last year’s winner, is up against Amplify, Billion Dollar Boy, Manifest, Mother London, Pablo London, St Luke’s and Wieden & Kennedy London.
Wunderman Thompson will defend its Integrated Marketing Agency of the Year title against opposition from Manifest, MullenLowe Group UK, Ogilvy UK, The & Partnership, TMW Unlimited, VCCP and VMLY&R.
Start-up Agency of the Year, which was a new addition to the awards last year when Neverland claimed the gong, has a four-strong shortlist with the likes of Bicycle London, M&C Saatchi’s Fluency, Motel and Weirdo in with a chance of gold.
The winners will be announced at an awards dinner at The Brewery, near Old Street, in London on 16 March.
