Production Manager

Amplify has a dedicated Production Team led out of our UK office, responsible for planning and producing a broad range of projects, campaigns and events for an array of clients. We are actively delivering experiences across the UK, mainland Europe, Australia and North America with the ongoing ambition to deliver a wider scope of projects within a multi genre client and cultural landscape.

As a Production Manager you will be the primary contact between internal stakeholders at Amplify and our external suppliers and partners, be that technical, fabrication, logistical, H&S, local authorities and more. You will be the production and technical figurehead, the go-to person for team members looking to you for your expertise and support. You'll be as cool as they come, unflappable and the epitome of a safe pair of hands. Your experience will span the delivery of Live events as well as digital, hybrid, content and broadcast focused experiences. You’ll bring your experience to the fore to ensure all projects and challenges are met head on with a positive and can-do approach.

You will work as part of a wider team and be expected to calmly navigate all the different challenges that come with involvement in our biggest and most complex projects, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept abreast of the key developments and requirements through every stage, from concept ideation through to final execution.

  • You are the guardian of all production elements and drive personal and collective excellence when managing multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • You can foresee and anticipate potential problems and keep a cool head when under pressure
  • You love being in the detail and take pride in delivering projects flawlessly, on time and meeting a challenge
  • You like to get stuck in and lead the charge. You have a positive and enthusiastic attitude to being set a tight deadline, some troublesome production challenges or a solid period onsite.
  • You’re a clear and precise communicator in all forms, both verbal and written and when put under pressure you react positively to achieve the best results
  • You have strong financial acumen and experience managing production budgets of anything up to £500k+ with strong commercial awareness including driving supplier negotiations, seeking best solutions (not always the easiest) and protecting the margin from unnecessary spends
  • You enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, but also internal stakeholders and clients. You have a black book of contacts you, and Amplify, can rely on and have the confidence to pick up the phone and leverage a favour or two when in need
  • You champion organisation and have experience of Production Management tools and systems as well as a healthy knowledge and appreciation of the client services and project management requirements
  • You have a solid and proficient knowledge in AutoCAD / Sketch Up / Vectorworks or a similar package to be able to read and understand plans, create your own and relay them to the necessary audience. Equally important is the ability to manage and detail version control across departments
  • You have a solid knowledge and are keen to learn and develop in all areas of the production world that is to become a reliable voice on all elements but specifically but not exclusively scenic, AV, lighting, sound, rigging, infrastructure, facilities, connectivity and broadcast
  • You have an active awareness of the latest event supplier and technical innovations. You are the go to source of knowledge for new products, technologies, potential partners / suppliers, materials and interesting processes and actively seeking new proposals by going out and meeting, experiencing new disciplines
  • You have extensive experience of all Health and Safety, Insurance, Security, Permits and License requirements and are the reliable go to for any challenges in these areas. Upwardly confident in communicating our approaches and maintaining our best in class label, specifically in the H&S process.
  • You can be agile within a timeline, but a production schedule control freak and always drive your projects forward to deliver on time.
