Amplify + Google introduce a new era of AI and Ads...

Challenge

2023 was the first year Google brought their annual tentpole sales event, Google Marketing Live (GML) to the AUNZ market. After the success of their inaugural event series, Google challenged Amplify to build on this momentum to cement their leadership in AI and Ads.

Responsible for the creative development, experience design and execution in Sydney and Melbourne, our aim was to engage and show 1000+ of Google’s top partners and customers how they can put Google AI to work for them.

GML is designed to help the audience understand how Google can help businesses responsibly grow in a challenging environment and confidently sustain profitable growth.

To show Google as a thought leader, we focused on spotlighting their AI-powered product announcements, demos and new research and creating opportunities for their sales teams to unlock new conversations with clients and agency partners.

Solution

Google Marketing Live

Starting with a refreshed ‘24 global brand identity inspired by the evolving AI landscape, we translated this into environmental design that used vibrant pops of core colours, playful copy and dynamic patterns to create a modern experience that captivated guests in both locations.

Taking over the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney and The Glasshouse in Melbourne, the event design included a range of large scale graphics and print applications to deliver bold messages in memorable ways.

Attendees enjoyed an afternoon of learning with a mix of Keynote sessions and panel discussions from senior Google stakeholders such as Mel Silva, Managing Director and VP of Google AUNZ, Rick Gove, Head of Performance Solutions AUNZ and Victoria Berthinussen, Head of Creative Works, covering how AI allows advertisers to address complex and evolving consumer behaviour, driving relevance and results at scale and how advances in technology are changing the ways stories are shared.

After the sessions concluded, attendees enjoyed networking with colleagues and Google sales representatives, and Sydney attendees enjoyed a special evening overlooking the Sydney Harbour during the light festival, VIVID.

Results

Google Marketing Live doubled in size and cemented Google’s leadership in AI and Ads.
