81% believe tech can be a force for good
Relationships and technology are now inextricably linked with young people relying on dating apps to make real world connections. But with the significant concern they are expressing around data sharing, fake news and extremists using social platforms, are they using technology any less?
Technology has a huge impact in all our lives, but what is really important in the world of tech to this generation of young people? Are they fearful of AI? What do they think about privacy and data, and how do they feel tech impacts their personal lives and relationships?
Although 81% of our audience feel that if technology is used right it can be a force for good, there is significant mistrust and suspicion surrounding AI and new technology. Add to that concerns about privacy, data sharing, cyber crime, extremist groups using online platforms, fake news and online abuse and you can see why they are worried.
We hear all the time that young people spend too much time on their phones or hooked up to technology, that they aren’t spending enough time in the real world. But how does technology really impact their social lives and personal relationships?
So, while there are certainly fears about where the world is going when it comes to AI and new technology, data issues and internet abuse, when it comes to young people’s social lives and personal relationships, they find it an easier way to connect.
